Overconfidence in soccer games

Players and teams often become overconfident in their abilities , often losing the reality of the risk , they take  as a result of their high confidence levels. Here are examples of overconfidence resulting in losing games.

Overconfidence is a state of mind, it uses current bias of the self and uses it in decision making. The  bias in a real time situation of the self may be inadequate , as overconfidence is derived from past or future beliefs about the self.If in the past you performed well , there is no reason not to believe , you expect to do well in the future. If in the future you believe you can  perform well , you may not be actually able to perform well in the future, you are suffering from overconfidence.

Tottenham played West Ham on October 25 ,2017  .After leading 2-0 at half time  , they became easy and relaxed in the  game , They had then lost the motivation  and energy , to play an effective game .As a result  West Ham got stronger , Tottenham capitulated mentally  and the result was a loss .The change of  the game was sudden , leaving Tottenham in a mixed mindset  that was relaxed , uninspiring and confused. The mindset changed from a winning mentality to a  bewildered and scared mindset  .Soccer mindset is  80 % success.
