Learn from the greatest soccer psychologist Sir Alex Ferguson

The best football psychologist was Sir Alex Ferguson

The reason why he is the greatest is because he did it on the field, he demonstrated his skills and he proved them with results. Most others are not proven as successful psychologist.Other managers can learn from somebody who knows the skills and shares them.
Sir Alex knows the proven secrets of football management.

If managers follow Sir Matt Busby philosophy "play to your strengths and enjoy the game, play natural game in natural position, keep it simple ".These are the virtues of Sir Alex that I talk about.

Self Sabotage on soccer fields

Player Punches Himself To Get A Foul

Every player does it sometimes. Some do it regularly—shoot themselves in the foot or put obstacles in their own chosen path. Behavior is self-sabotaging when in attempting to solve or cope with a problem, it instigates new problems

Tottenham full-back Danny Rose said psychologists helped him overcome "one of the most difficult periods of my life" as he battled a knee injury.

Rose, 27, said he had lost the appetite to regain his fitness as he spent almost nine months out of action.

The Power of Self-Belief .Finding Your Inner Magic Through the Power of Self-Belief

Self-doubt is a silent serpent that creeps into the patterns of our thinking and eats away at our self-belief. The miracle and magnitude of our soul does not contain self-doubt. We are the ones that open a door for it to walk through.Self-belief helps you see opportunities. It is said that having clear goals helps you to notice those elements around you that can assist you in reaching them.

Improve Football Performance

Many athletes fail to recognize the significance of using mind control to control the body. Your automatic responses that rest in your subconscious mind are developed well enough to help you overcome any obstacle.

Having a good game plan is extremely important and it is necessary that you use your mind on a conscious and subconscious level in order to follow the plan smoothly and with quick reaction. However, it is also necessary to make sudden decisions when your game plan falls short.

understand the brain in soccer

“The more you understand, the more you can accept how your brain works and use it efficiently. But these mental  skills are  to be trained and practiced like all others.”

The purpose of practice is to en grain the skills in the subconscious mind.
Most of the playing  is done by the subconscious mind , it  sends instructions to pass the ball ,move to left or right  , before rational brain can even blink.Biting other players , attacking others ,missing penalty  and  other mistakes are instructions from the subconscious mind in control.

Overconfidence in soccer games

Players and teams often become overconfident in their abilities , often losing the reality of the risk , they take  as a result of their high confidence levels. Here are examples of overconfidence resulting in losing games.

Overconfidence is a state of mind, it uses current bias of the self and uses it in decision making. The  bias in a real time situation of the self may be inadequate , as overconfidence is derived from past or future beliefs about the self.If in the past you performed well , there is no reason not to believe , you expect to do well in the future. If in the future you believe you can  perform well , you may not be actually able to perform well in the future, you are suffering from overconfidence.

Tottenham played West Ham on October 25 ,2017  .After leading 2-0 at half time  , they became easy and relaxed in the  game , They had then lost the motivation  and energy , to play an effective game .As a result  West Ham got stronger , Tottenham capitulated mentally  and the result was a loss .The change of  the game was sudden , leaving Tottenham in a mixed mindset  that was relaxed , uninspiring and confused. The mindset changed from a winning mentality to a  bewildered and scared mindset  .Soccer mindset is  80 % success.

soccer pitch violence psychology

Most of the pitch violence   is done by the subconscious mind , it  sends instructions to attack  ,stop  the player ,move to left or right  , before rational brain can even blink.Biting other players , attacking others ,missing penalty  and  other mistakes are instructions from the subconscious mind in control.
Our emotions have helped us immeasurably over the course of human evolution. Emotional responses are milliseconds faster than cognitive (thinking) responses; the lightning-fast reactions that bypass the rational brain centers were often survival responses for our distant ancestors. The limbic brain sends us the warning of a crisis before the rational brain can even process the incoming signal: the body has been alerted and is ready to act on our behalf.Your subconscious  mind will take over your football  ,during live game  , it will act like  a autopilot  with conscious awareness , blocking your rational brain  and rational  decisions , to protect  you and your team from a loss .

Blanking out: How stress can shut down the command centre in the brain. The brain shuts down on the soccer pitch, emotions take over with a amygdala hijack, the ancestral brain response is to fight or flee resulting in biting or violence.

Why clubs are wrong to sack their managers !

It is the club  management that self sabotage teams , by selling their best players .In the case of Ronald Koeman  , they sold Lukaku  ,it destroyed the whole team's subconcious structure .It took months to gell the team , then they lost Lukaku , their team had to start rebuilding again.

Most of the playing  is done by the subconscious mind , it  sends instructions to pass the ball ,move to left or right  , before rational brain can even blink.

99 % of footballers and managers make mistakes due to their mindsets

Soccer management psychology

Here is an example of subconscious mind mistake in this video below

99 % of footballers and managers will actually make mistakes due to their mindsets, this because all our playing is done by subconscious mind. This psychology  information and knowledge is  about how our brains are designed to make subconscious automatic decisions.
Team gelling together requires at least 6 months of playing together ,using same systems and players. This is to build a subconscious game plan , it plants the strategy in the player's minds for a continuous 6 months, player's subconscious  memory becomes engrained  to where other team players are and where to pass the ball , that is going to be executed by the automatic mind .

Most of the playing  is done by the subconscious mind , it  sends instructions to pass the ball ,move to left or right  , before rational brain can even blink.Biting other players , attacking others ,missing penalty  and  other mistakes are instructions from the subconscious mind in control.
Psychology is 100% of soccer success. This is because the human with a mind is going to execute the skills  and a player’s brain command centre makes all the playing decisions. The brain’s command centre can shut down due to stress responses , in the middle of a game. Emotions can override rational football rules, systems and methods taught by coaches.

Your subconscious  mind will take over your football  ,during live game  , it will act like  a autopilot  with conscious awareness , blocking your rational brain  and rational  decisions , to protect  you and your team from a loss .

Planning and playing involve different skills that draw upon different parts of the brain. Planning the game is largely a function of your intellect, the prefrontal cortex PFC. You create your plan in a relatively calm state of mind with your PFC in charge. But when it comes time to execute the plan, other areas of your brain will become involved.

Sir Alex Fergusion was the master man manager , because he was a psychologist. He understood subconscious mind in football. He allowed the players to play to their subconscious compatibility.

Automatic Brain: most play moves  are by subconscious.

Automatic mind takes over our playing , after a stress response ,emotional hijack and is often testosterone driven. It means all our game plans , systems .rules and strategy instructions go out of the playing .The subconscious mind takes over our playing  , it does all the damage  and creates self sabotage.Subconscious mind makes irrational , risky and damaging plan  execution.

When a move  breaks down , your are hit on a counter , ball goes against you by a few kicks , game become chaotic , highly volatile and wild or other risk event , your subconscious takes over and your primitive response system comes in to give the commands of the brain.

SUBCONSCIOUS EMOTIONAL game plan  EXECUTIONS

Our emotions have helped us immeasurably over the course of human evolution. Emotional responses are milliseconds faster than cognitive (thinking) responses; the lightning-fast reactions that bypass the rational brain centers were often survival responses for our distant ancestors. The limbic brain sends us the warning of a crisis before the rational brain can even process the incoming signal: the body has been alerted and is ready to act on our behalf.

Our emotional brain takes over  plan executions ,blocks the rational brain  and behaves to the detriment of the player and the strategy to be executed. The prefrontal cortext holds the circuitry we need for abstract thought. It allows us to concentrate on the task at hand while storing useful information in temporary storage for later on. It also prevents you from performing inappropriate actions and is basically the command center for the brain.

Thoughts become reality   , the subconscious mind will used the stored thoughts , because the subconscious will rely on those thoughts. If many conflicting thoughts are given to players via managerial instructions , the mind will act in two minds   and will be confused.Equally if managers are changing and chopping players and systems  , it is detrimental to successful execution, the mind will have conflicting information and thoughts.Managers should stick to simple systems and regular teams , otherwise they mess up.
